AniMap Plus 2.6 - U.S. County Boundary Historical Atlas
Find Those Old Towns & Counties

A great tool every genealogy enthusiast or family history researcher should own!

Just about every researcher deals with the problem of finding an old town that has long-since disappeared from the map. Or, you have a known location but it was not in the same county 100 or 200 years ago. AniMap Plus now has solutions to these problems.

This program will display over 2,300 maps to show the changing county boundaries for each of the 48 adjacent United States for every year since colonial times. Includes all years, not just the census years. Maps may be viewed separately, or the program can set them in motion so you can automatically view the boundary changes. Maps of the full U.S. are also included showing all the changes in state and territorial boundaries from 1776 to the present.

Each map includes a listing of the changes from the previous map making it simple to keep track of parent counties. There are four speed adjustments in the "run" mode as well as being able to advance by single frames.

The History of Idaho

Idaho's history and settlement patterns can be explored through place names. Idaho's place names vary in origin, but follow a few patterns. Many places are named after people; others were influenced by Native American names or figures. Early explorers, miners, and travelers along the Oregon and California trails provided many names, as did railroad construction and Mormon settlers.

Diversity in the ethnic makeup of the population during the 19th and early 20th centuries created the backbone for modern California as the state continues to draw immigrants from around world.

The History of Iowa

The history of Iowa's people is full of perseverance, strength, and hard work. The first people to live on the land faced long days of hunting and gathering to sustain themselves and were constantly on the move. Native Americans called Iowa home for thousands of years, but gave up their land to American pioneers in the 19th century. These pioneers faced hardships they could not have foreseen. Long tracts of prairie land devoid of trees and water made the Iowa frontier nearly impossible to live on.

The History of Massachusetts

Since the arrival of the Pilgrims and the Puritans in the 17th century, Massachusetts has grown, changed, and evolved in a number of ways. The HIstory & People of Connecticut

Connecticut's history can seem highly cyclical at times, going from depression, to war, to economic prosperity, and back again. However, between those major trends, Connecticut created a unique culture. The people of Connecticut have worked to produce an economy of varied industries, using diversification successfully. Scores of different people have settled in the state, ranging from religious radicals of the 17th century, to immigrants in flight of poverty in the 19th and 20th centuries. These people have come together to create a solid, yet diverse, cultural, political, and economic history.
